Cute flower earrings in red white and blue. As a native British and adopted French, they suit both my National colours.. As, perhaps, for our American cousins?

Marianne is a young girl, symbol of the French republic, portrayed on official documents, coins, and statues outside civic buildings. She is loosely based on the Roman Goddess of Liberty, and symbolises the values of the Republic (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity).

The Statue of Liberty in New York was created by the French Artists Frédéric Bartholdi and Gustav Eiffel, and was based on Marianne to represent the same values.

Britannia is the personification of Britain, portrayed as a warrior Goddess holding Poseidon's trident and a Spartan shield painted with the Union Jack flag. Sometimes her robes are also Red White and Blue. A lion rests at her feet. She represents British liberty and democracy.

The large flowers have dangling stamens underneath, made from silver wire and pale pink Swarovski crystals. Each earring also has a smaller flower and a Tibetan silver leaf charm.

The flower caps, leaves, stems and earring hooks are all silver plated. The base of each flower is finished with a Czech fire polished bead in pink.

Measurements : 2.2 cm widest, 6.8cm long including earring hook and stems // 3/4 inch by 2.5 inches
