Opalite (also known as Sea Opal or Opalised Glass) is a man-made gemstone known for it's striking appearance - it fluoresces with a pale blue glow in daylight, and intensely under UV light. The second photo was taken in full sunlight, where the effect is most obvious. Think Sting from The Lord of The Rings.

For those of metaphysical beliefs, this stone is associated with the Third Eye Chakra, communication, healing, and believed to have powerful calming properties for depression and anxiety. (Does it work? Maybe. It's certainly beautiful, soothing and stress-relieving to play with mine in the light).

Measurements: length of main chain = 36 to 46cm / 14 inches to 18 inches (adjustable)
