Black chicken enamel pin with glitter and rainbow metal (anodised zinc).

High quality large soft enamel brooch, with fine detailing, based on my own illustration of my pet chicken Sauron (his son Aegon Targ-hairy-hen is shown in the photos with his sisters Sansa Squawk and Carmilla)

Ayam Cemanis are known for their oil-black feathers with a rich metallic sheen - shimmering with blue, purple and greens in the light.

They have been described as "goth chickens" due to their black skin, eyes, meat, bones, the works (the eggs, to dispel the rumour, are white).

I thought the striking and unusual holo rainbow effect of anodised metal would represent their true colours quite well - the feathers and outline of the pin will be raised and coloured as such, with the rest of the body pure black with solid glitter.

The "rainbow" effect may vary slightly from pin to pin, and be a little more purple in reality than the design proof shown here. The recessed areas filled with black glitter.


DIMENSIONS:

Pin is quite large at 40mm tall by 40mm wide, and fastens with 2 rear push pins and removable metal butterfly clasps.

(In inches: 1 3/4 inches tall by 1 and 1/2 inch wide).
